The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center welcomes Dr. Jonathan Rock as the new Director of the Division of Autopsy Services with the continued service of Dr. Patricia Allenby as the Associate Director, and Dr.’s Sergey Brodsky, and Stephen Moore as attending autopsy pathologists. Additionally, the department would like to welcome the expertise of neuropathologists, Dr.’s Norman Lehman and Jose Otero. The Department of Pathology, Division of Autopsy Services provides morgue holding facilities, research operations, tissue procurement operations, and in-patient/out-patient autopsy operations to all of the facets of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, including the Ross Heart Hospital, James Cancer Center, University Hospital - Main, and University Hospital - East. Intimately working with the OSU College of Medicine, the division provides a unique and enriched learning experience for medical students, residents, and fellows. Additionally, the division works in conjunction with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office in an effort to broaden the clinical expertise of medical students and residents alike. Weekly Brain Cutting Conferences and Educational Autopsy Conferences function to deliver clinical information to OSU clinicians and other members of the medical community, including students, nurses, and non-pathology residents/fellows. With the expertise of the autopsy attending pathologists and neuropathologists, the Division of Autopsy Services is a part of the OSU Regional Autopsy Center, which provides non-forensic autopsy services to the surrounding medical community and families of central Ohio. During 2011, the Division of Autopsy Services staff performed 203 autopsies, to include fetal, neonatal, private, in-patient, and out-patient cases.
