Welcome to the Department of Pathology
        at The Ohio State University Medical Center

The Department of Pathology is unique in the College of Medicine and Public Health.  It is a basic science department with a full graduate program leading to both a Masters and a Ph.D.  It is an essential part of the medical curriculum in the sophomore year.  In addition, it is a clinical department with a complete residency training program and an active clinical practice in the areas of laboratory medicine and anatomic pathology.  Clinical services include transfusion services, biopsy interpretations, evaluations of blood and body fluids for all variety of abnormalities, microbiology, forensic sciences, cytogenetics, and molecular biology.

The department currently has 36 full-time faculty, 15 Ph.D. students, 14 residents, and 6 fellows.  The department has over 3 million dollars in active research grants.   It is physically located in four different buildings in the College of Medicine and Public Health complex with the department administrative office in 129 Hamilton Hall.
