Dr Clarissa Cassol is a Renal and Transplant pathology specialist working at the Division of Renal Pathology at OSU. She completed her Anatomic Pathology residency at the University of Toronto, where she also served as a chief resident and subsequently chief fellow during her Renal Pathology Fellowship. Upon completion of residency, she received the University of Toronto Stanley-Raphael award for professionalism. Her initial AP training was at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, after which she moved to Canada to pursue 2-year Molecular Oncologic Pathology fellowship at the University of Toronto. Her studies at the time focused on endocrine malignancies, particularly pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas, for which she received the USCAP Stowell-Orbinson Award in 2014. Before joining OSU, Dr Cassol worked as a staff at SUNY Upstate Medical University as a dedicated Renal and Transplant pathologist. Her research interests include acute and chronic renal allograft rejection, glomerular and tubuloninterstitial diseases.
