Biosketch

I am a AP/CP Board certified Pathologist and fellowship trained in Renal and Transplant Pathology. I started as Assistant Professor since 2007 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2012. My main responsibilities have been signing-out native medical disease kidney biopsies and transplant kidney biopsies. I also do some thoracic and cardiovascular pathology. I participate in medical student and resident teaching and weekly biopsy conferences with the Nephrology and Transplant Medicine teams. Additionally, I have been heavily involved in clinical/translational research. My areas of interest are: Staphylococcal infection-associated glomerulonephritis; diagnosis of pyelonephritis in the transplant kidney; and antibody-mediated rejection in the kidney. I have also authored few manuscripts on amyloidosis, and drug-toxicities in the kidney. I have participated in projects dealing with proteomics and Nanostring transcriptomics in collaboration with the Nephrology division. I have helped several Nephrology fellows in their work on proteomics. I have co-authored chapters in some of the major text books - Heptinstall's Pathology of the Kidney, Silva's Diagnsotic Renal Pathology; and Sternberg's Diagnostic Surgical Pathology.
