HISTORY:

61 year old male presented to the head and neck oncology clinic with right neck pain, dysphagia, hoarseness and a submandibular mass of 7 months duration. The patient had undergone incision and drainage previously in an attempt to treat the lesion. Upon examination, there was a firm mass which was adherent to skin. CT scan showed that the lesion was next to internal carotid artery and other critical structures. A core biopsy was positive for a tumor with clear cell features. A radical resection including skin, submandibular gland, and right levels I-III was performed.
