HISTORY:
A female in her 60s presents with symptoms of urinary retention. Past surgical history includes insertion of stent in right ureter. Most recent cystourethroscopy showed erythema, inflammation, papillary changes and sloughed mucosa in dome and posterior wall of the bladder.
GROSS:
The specimen is designated "bladder lesion" and consists of four irregular-shaped fragments of tan-pink soft tissue ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 cm in greatest dimension.
