Because the CHTN is an NCI supported resource, investigators are charged a low processing fee for each sample to offset the costs of collecting, handling and preparing the specimens in accordance with the detailed requirements of the investigator. A sample is defined as one processed piece of a specimen, regardless of the sample size or type of processing. Each investigator is also responsible for all shipping costs as well as an expedited handling fee for rush/same day shipments.
Additional services can be provided to investigators upon request. These fees are applicable to both academic and commercial investigators.
Investigators may request chart reviews for a minimal fee starting at $60. Other special handling and processing fees may be charged for $50 per hour (minimum of $50) [$25/hour and minimum of $25 until 9/1/2022].
Shipping charges are the responsibility of the investigator and are determined by the courier utilized. This charge will vary according to the weight and priority status of the shipment.
An expedited handling fee of $100 (commercial investigators) [$40 until 9/1/2022] or $30 (academic investigators) [$15 until 9/1/2022] per shipment will be applied for those shipments that are shipped the same day procured.
Once the client receives electronic notification that a specimen request has been fulfilled, there are three payment options for specimen processing:

Whenever possible, please obtain the PO prior to specimen distribution.
