Biosketch
Shalla Akbar, M.B.,B.S., M.S. is an assistant professor in the department of Pathology. Dr. Akbar received her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical University, Pakistan. She received her master degree in Pathology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Akbar completed her residency from University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL and subsequently completed a cytopathology fellowship from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Dr. Akbar joined The Ohio State University department of Pathology in 2022 after finishing her fellowship with clinical responsibilities in Cyto, Gynecologic, and Frozen Section pathology.
Dr. Akbar is a diplomat of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology.
Dr. Akbar lives with her husband and daughter in Columbus. She loves to cook and travel.
