The branch of Clinical Pathology consists of dedicated subspecialists providing high quality diagnostic services. Each division is engaged in combining diagnostic excellence with translational research and supporting clinical trials. These collaborative multidisciplinary research activities engage a spectrum of clinical departments resulting in productive and successful collaborations supported through extramural funding.

Faculty within this division also provide excellent direction of the clinical laboratories throughout the OSU Health System maintaining an extensive clinical testing menu and providing expert faculty consultation services and regulatory compliance.

The branch maintains a strong commitment to educational activities. The residents rotate through the various divisions and clinical laboratories where they are exposed to a wide array of methods spanning the discipline of clinical pathology. The branch supports postgraduate fellowships in hematopathology, transfusion medicine and in clinical cytogenetics and clinical molecular genetics in conjunction with Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
