Norris I. Hollie, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor-Clinical and board certified (AP/CP) pathologist and board certified hematopathologist. Dr. Hollie completed a Medical Scientist Training Program (MD, PhD) at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His PhD studies were completed in the lab of David Hui, PhD, where he elucidated mechanisms of phospholipid metabolism in hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis, resulting in three first author papers and grants from two national agencies (National Institutes of Health and American Heart Association), and where he also became enamored with laboratory methods of investigation. He went on to complete his pathology (AP/CP) residency and fellowship (hematopathology) training at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, where his efforts resulted in two additional publications, including one as first author.
Dr. Hollie's teaching experience includes medical student board review lectures, graduate student histology lectures/microscope sessions, and numerous journal clubs, small group sessions, and presentations. His research interests include lymphomas, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and mixed myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms.
