Biosketch
I am an Assistant Professor in the Anatomic Pathology Division and a faculty member of the division of Genitourinary Pathology, Cytopathology and Bone and Soft tissue Pathology. My research interests are understanding pathologic basis of carcinogenesis, exploring novel biomarkers for prostate, kidney, bladder & testicular neoplasms, non-exfoliative cytology, exploring innovative applications of digital pathology including the augmented reality microscope. I love teaching residents and trainees.
I am currently section editor of the Diagnostic Pathology Journal and editorial member of the social-media committee of the Cytopathology Journal and past reviewer of the Human Pathology Case Reports Journal. I currently serve as a Junior Ad Hoc member of the Government Affairs and Economic Policy Committee of the American Society of Cytopathology. During my residency and fellowship, I received Robert L West award for the most outstanding resident in anatomic pathology, travel award from the Association of Pathology Informatics, poster of distinction award at the UPMC research retreat and pathology trainee research advancement award for research involving novel biomarkers for renal neoplasms.
