Biosketch

Dr. Martha Milanes-Yearsley is a board certified anatomic and surgical pathologist, with expertise in gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatico-biliary pathology. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Cartagena, Colombia, where she completed a previous anatomic pathology residency and fellowship in surgical pathology at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerologia and Fundacion Santa Fe de Bogota. She further pursued an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Ohio State University, and a Gastrointestinal, Liver and Pancreatobiliary Pathology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

She joined the Department of Pathology at the OSUWMC in July 2006 as a faculty member, and is currently a Professor-Clinical. Throughout the years she has provided excellent clinical service as an active member of clinical teams of gastroenterologists, hepatologists, surgeons, oncologists and transplant surgeons.

She is currently the Director of Gastrointestinal, Liver and Pancreaticobiliary Pathology Division at OSUWMC. She actively participates as a collaborator in clinical and translational research projects. She also teaches and mentors, on a daily basis, residents and fellows on their pathway to successful private practice and academic careers.
