About Columbus
Our residency program is located in the heart of Columbus, Ohio, the 14th largest city in the country! Columbus is a vibrant city full of excitement and variety. It is the perfect balance between a big city and a small town.
If you are a sports fan, you can become a Buckeye from Day One (Let’s Go Buckeyes!) or enjoy professional leagues. OSU boasts 36 NCAA Division One sports teams, and Columbus is home to professional soccer (the Columbus Crew), professional hockey (Columbus Blue Jackets), and minor league baseball (Columbus Clippers). For personal sports and recreation, we have dozens of Metroparks for hiking, two rivers for kayaking and fishing, myriad city parks and recreation centers, and club sports teams for children and adults alike.
Columbus has entertainment for all ages and preferences. For the little ones (and not so little), you can enjoy a day at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium—featuring the Zoombezi Bay water park—or The Center of Science and Industry (COSI). The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens provide fun for the whole family and rotating exhibits as well as Chihuly glass sculptures. Columbus also offers a great art scene of independent artists, seasonal Broadway performances, and the Columbus Museum of Art.
One of the best things about living in Columbus is the food scene. Columbus has an incredible variety of food for everyone, including local and seasonal produce at multiple farmers’ markets and international grocery stores. Grandview, Downtown, and German Village are all hotspots to experience the best food this city has to offer. The nightlife here is vibrant, with live music every night, local breweries, tap rooms, distilleries, galleries, barcades, rooftop bars, and so much more.
For those with kids, Columbus is home to some of the best school districts in Ohio, including Dublin, Grandview Heights, Bexley, Upper Arlington, New Albany, Westerville, and Worthington.
